Achievers Despite Resistance
A collaborative production by the students of the Grand Rapids Public Museum School and faculty and students of Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University with Open System Technologies as part of the EPIC project (epicsite.org )
About The Project
The JCM Shirley Chisholm animation project is one of five animated pieces created for the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia in order to showcase black achievers throughout history.
Our Roles
Myself and four teammates were tasked with developing one of five animations following a provided script from the client.
Text Animation
I worked as one of two animators on the project. I was responsible for animating text and speech bubbles, scene transitions, and running a final pass over all scenes.
Animation Final Passes
My partner’s role was to rough in animation and my role was to polish and add text. I worked closely with the other animator, clarifying and finalizing complex movements based on story boards, and taking on the more complicated animations
when necessary.
